The focus of the event was on the health and safety problems of the Middle East and the Persian Gulf region, and attracted professional individuals, companies and academic researchers from many industries, particularly from oil and gas.
The conference attracted nearly 1,000 delegates from Iran and other countries in the region. BSS Managing Director, Pat McLoughlin delivered two presentations at the conference on accident prevention and accident investigation. Delegates also benefited from a paper on Risk Management by Vivian Turner. Viv recently joined the BSS team as a HSE Consultant, Head of Risk Assessment and Management.
Supporting the conference was a major trade exhibition, where BSS promoted its services to visitors. BSS offers specialist HSE consultancy and training to organisations of any size around the world, with particular experience in rail, construction, oil and gas industries. Their team of experienced trainers help individuals to achieve globally accepted qualifications from accredited bodies including NEBOSH and IOSH. BSS students have consistently gained success at the NEBOSH National General Certificate achieving an average pass rate of 96%

BSS were asked to present at the conference following a recommendation from John Lowe, Head of International and Wider Market Projects at the Fire Service College. Pat McLoughlin went on to state, “BSS strive to help individuals and companies to achieve the high health and safety standards required for the industries they represent. We are passionate about the benefits of working in a safe environment and look forward to sharing knowledge with delegates from the region.”
